What Estia is
Estia is a fictional engineering practice. This site is a complete demo of a lead-generation platform for home energy upgrades: five free tools that give a real answer before asking for contact details, four SEO guides and fully bilingual content.
Contact details, testimonials, projects and figures are invented. Prices and subsidy programmes are indicative and may not match the current official calls.
The solar calculator
Address geocoding (Nominatim), building confirmation on a satellite map, annual yield from the European Commission’s PVGIS, and a shading estimate from neighbouring buildings: roof perimeter sampling, a 360° obstruction horizon built from Overture Maps footprints and heights, swept against hourly sun positions over a typical meteorological year. Everything runs server-side; the browser only receives the result.
The other tools
Heat pump, energy-class upgrade, Exoikonomo eligibility check and renovation cost estimator run entirely in the browser on a shared energy model with documented assumptions. Every assumption carries a source and a date.
Technology
React 19, Vite, TypeScript, Tailwind v4, framer-motion, react-router with every page pre-rendered to static HTML (both languages, with hreflang), an Express API deployed as a Vercel serverless function, and vitest for the model and the API.
